  1. Voting Question: my little sister in-law?
  2. 23 May 2008 at 2:58pm
My little sister in-law is 16, and she lives with her aunt due to a very messed up home family life. Last year my husband and I saw that she seemed to be a little neglected (thew other kids got new haircuts, clothes, cellphones etc.) So we asked if we could take her (I'm 20, and my husband is 23). They said no, and we're very offended (And I can see why). Then the aunt promised that my little sister in-law wouldnt have to babysit all summer, she could get a job if she wanted etc. And none of that happened. She just babysat all summer. Summer is coming, and I want her to enjoy it this year, with the choice of working or not. I think my sister in-law should be with immeadiate family (her brother and myself). I think the aunt and her husband just want a full time babysitter, and the extra cash from my sister in-laws monthly flow. What does anyone have to say about this?? I would love ANY feed back. By the way, the aunt and her husband are on the brink of divorce. They already have 4 kids. One who has slight mental problems. And I don't think its a healthy envirnment for her to be in. (They are very materialistic (big house, nice furniture, rockband (the video game), fancy car etc...all of which they can't afford...) Sure we aren't as fancy as them, but we're happily married, she would have her own room, instead of sharing with her possessive cousin, no babysitting, and alot of focused attention on her from us) Even if no one answers, it felt good to get it off my chest. Thank you guys so much for the input. It feels good to get outsiders opinions. We're going to have her over tonight, watch some movies and what not. And show her what it would be like to live with us. It would be nice if she atleast lived with us for the summer. Just so she could have a summer. Before we give her our proposal, I am going to try and get a feel out of how happy she is there. My husbands aunt and uncle have been very good her to and their kids lately...new bedroom furniture, rockbank, a 2 week trip to mexico etc. But they can't keep that up forever. Her dad hasn't had a thing to do with her since she was 3 years old. Except sending a cheque in the mail every month. No one will let my sister inlaw live her mom because of her step dad, whom her mother wont leave. Her mom wants her though, believe me. But my sister inlaw will not have her, her mother has done so much damage to her. The aunt and uncle don't have legal custody of her. And we really don't want to turn this into a huge fight. We love the aunt and uncle, they have been nice to us over the years. But we just think my husbands little sister needs to be with us. Whether she likes it or not. If she chose to stay with them, it wouldnt be because they are better for her, it's because the buy her love and bribe her. And I don't want her to learn that - buying and bribing for love.

  19. Resolved Question: Yearly Cash Flow and Yearly Gross Income?
  20. 21 May 2008 at 10:38am
I saw a business for sale with the following stats: Yearly Cash Flow: $130,000 Yearly Gross Income: $360,000 Can someone explain to me what exactly these two numbers mean? Does cash flow mean the amount of money that came into the business and then was spent on operating the business? Similarly, does gross income refer to the amount the business made after paying all its expenses but before taxes? Also, what would yearly revenue and yearly net income refer to? Also, I've been reading that some of these figures take into account 'cost of goods purchased', would this also mean employee wages?

  25. Resolved Question: Clothes Hire Business?
  26. 20 May 2008 at 8:40am
Do you think it is feasible to start up a clothes hire business from home. I am doing much research in to the field and obviously it makes sense to have shop premises that people can call in as and when they need to hire an item however, with very little cash flow amongst other things I was wondering if this kind of business could be run from home by appointment. The 'market' that I am approaching is not your average person looking to hire a dress or a suit it is actually a specific market that isn't much provided for in the UK and especially not in the area that I live in and so I have high hopes that there would be good interest in it. I am thinking along the lines of working from home, with a good storage facility close to hand and an informative website to back up the venture. Do you think it would work from home?

  29. Resolved Question: Where was God during this earthquake?
  30. 19 May 2008 at 9:41pm
A massive earthquake struck China's Sichuan province on May 12th. "The death toll rose to 34,073 by Monday, with 245,108 injured, and 5 million homeless (now leaving in tents, thank the military). .....Domestic and international aid continued to flow in. The nation has received 10.83 billion yuan (which equals to 1.54 billion USD) in cash and goods from donors at home and abroad as of Monday." --- quoted from the following link http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2008-05/20/content_6696766.htm Now, what was God doing during the earthquake? Answer it in a logical and convincing manner. Otherwise, don't bother. Terri Lynn: Your claim that, I quote,"Perhaps the real tragedy is that so many more are yet to suffer and die because China's own government will not allow help through, and the help that is filtering in is being stolen and distributed through the military", unquote, is not supported by the 3 web links pasted by yourself. More info needed. Please do me a favor.

  38. 18 May 2008 at 5:42pm
There is a cash flow stream which starts in year 1 with payments of $A and lasts for 20 years and then continues with payments of $B starting in year 21 and continues forever. Assume that the prevailing annual rate of interest was 5%. Answer each of the following questions. (note: each question is independent of the other.) (a) If A = $200 and B = $150;, in todays dollars what is the value of this stream of cash flows? (b) If the present value of the stream is $5,000 and B = $100, what is the value of A? (c) Assume now that the value of the stream at year 20 is $10,000 and that B = 2A. What is the value of A? Actually, I already solved this problem but anyway thanks Ranto.

The project life time is 10 years and has the following phases: Phase 1: The engineering design and development requires 3 years. No production is done during this period. The costs are: Labor $ 3,052,143 per year paid at the end of each Material $729,070 paid at the end of the first year Phase 2: to launch the spacecraft into orbit, operate the equipment from the ground by remote control, and recover the spacecraft with the product. The phase is completed in one year, and will be repeated for the next 6 years for a total of 7 launches. Costs include (all costs are paid at the end of each year): Launch $ 7,000,000 Insurance$ 600,000 Labor $ 1,800,000 Material $ 800,000 The annual receipts as a result of phase 2 are $ 15,138,392. 57. Resolved Question: Koreans taking over the "Black Hair Care Industry"??
  58. 16 May 2008 at 7:51pm
Please help me to understand why blacks are bothered by this I'm not. If we wanted to we could take it back all it takes is a little initiative & discipline. I would very much so love to own my own hair store and I've seen so many black owned beauty supply stores go down the drain because they saw that little bit of cash flowing in & think that its time to go buy a $50,000 bmw and put it on 24's. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying that every one is like this but this is what I've seen time and time again. It's not like we can't get the money because correct me if I'm wrong for every grant they have for Caucasians, Koreans and Hispanics they have 100 more grants for African Americans. If koreans see something they want to invest in who's to say they can't they have just as much right as we do. As for them being "rude" I've been in a store where they've been rude to me & the times I have seen them being rude to people was when people were nasty to them. Somebody show me what you see! Intelligent answers only I am not being racist or looking for racist comments I just want answers Dani intelligent answers only!! it does not bother at all I just want to know why people are making such a fuss about it. Thanks for nothing but wasted space! I am black myself so I cant be "salty" against african americans this post was fueled by a article I read in ebony magazine and a documentary I watched on youtube I didn't know it was a big deal until this.

  64. 16 May 2008 at 11:20am
I certainly do hoped but considering the cash flow that we have, is maybe impossible. If it is possible to have a budget of at less $50m pounds, this players would make the difference -David Bentley : 12m -Daniel Alves : 10m -David Villa: 15m of cuz we need a good chief executive to do good business Then the formation will be for next season: Reina Alves Carra Agger/Skrtel Aurelio/Insua Mascherano Kuyt Bentley Gerrard Villa Torres This formation will allow us to win at less 80 points a season. By allowing 2 world class strikers up front like Kenny Dalguish and Ian Rush in the 80's and with the likes of stevie, bentley and alves feeding them the quality balls while mascherano defends the backfour, this is wad i call attack and defend at the same time. So wad do you think?

  68. 15 May 2008 at 11:26pm
I have been considering the purchase of a duplex in Ohio. The property is in excellent shape. There is currently a long term tenant of about 10 years residing in one side of the duplex. This may sound like good news for positive cash flow but the catch is that this tenant has had a sketchy past with childern. No criminal charges have been filed. The other half of the duplex has been vacant for some time now. I believe that the current tenants reputation has something to do with this. If I decide to purchase this duplex, what are the legalities associated with trying to get this current tenant evicted? If this tenant stays, I have a feeling that the other half will remain vacant. What are my options??

  72. 15 May 2008 at 1:51pm
OK, so I got a call from a collector lastnight telling me that they are trying to contact my finace about his student loan. She told me that they are going to garnish his wages by 25% each paycheck. He called her back and told her what we spend a month in bills and what cash flow we have. Basically its $2500.00 a month in bills and he makes $2400.00 a month in pay. She said that the minimum amout he can pay a month is $145.00. How are we suppose to do that, and have money to support three kids? Dont they have to go to court if they were to garnish his wages or could they just do it if we dont pay the $145.00 a month. He offered to pay her $50.00 a month until we get on our feet and she said no. Is there anything we can do??? Can someone please tell me what laws they might have broken as the first responder has stated

  79. Resolved Question: my evolution?
  80. 14 May 2008 at 11:03pm
okay, i started rapping when i was 7th grade. when i was looking through one of my composition books, i saw one of the first raps that i ever made. i sucks so bad that i had to show an excerpt of it to you guys. Now she jumps in the car The go and drink alot at te bar Then after they go to his place He took off his pants to give her a taste After all adult scene, she got her money But all of a sudden, she feels something funny She doesn't care anysay Cause she feels really gay That she has enough to take care her child She goes happy and wild When she goes to her next customer, she doesn't know That the police will show The police swarm her to make the arrest They force her to go to the jail and have an Aids test just in case for her faith Now lets go ahead two years later. through two years of experience, i came from the crappy lyrics above to the lyrics below. i hope you like how my lyrical skills evolve. It's crunch time, having every minute to bunch rhymes Knocking out mcs with my powerful punch lines I live in the background, having a discreet life But I have a sweet life with a background of a streetlight Being like a mosquito, injecting toxic juices To leave a mark on people with their exotic bruises And being strong, I'm here blastin' strong bears With the fist on the mic and Sampson's long hair I'm making cold mc go to diabetic mode They can't get electrified to life even with electric poles Just making cash flow, exciting like Ali's last blow While others are boring. It's like watching grass grow Plus your full or crap cause your organs bleeding through By the way i sew your butt and kept feeding you And by seeing your head, your mic device is hesitant Cause i shot words to your brain like the vice president You see I'm a gentlemen who's crazy making mental bend That uses his essential pen to confuse simpletons Into a spiral, shutting their computer with virals And blowing up their mind with a cycle of sick pyros Being an electrifying creator like Thomas Edison Giving this bass to specimen who eating it like medicine I'm just mad malicious, sadistic Blowing up the scene with a vicious ballistic In the mic, I'm god but I have a horrible side I can't freestyle, it's needed to have an immortal mind I just forget, seem fake, can't get the cake I can't blow it up or even detonate Having so much breaking points in joints, this is one facture Then when I hold mics, my hand seem to fracture That's why I don't want my hand to shake in the air This is Blake, thinking dumb by scratching flakes in his hair

  89. Resolved Question: How should we handle an upcoming windfall to improve our c...
  90. 13 May 2008 at 11:43pm
We have 3 maxed out credit cards and a maxed out HELOC. We will be adding a $25k windfall to our ailing cash flow in the coming weeks. Is it better to a) put all that extra cash into the household account to help cover us day-to-day and pay the credit cards off slowly (which will hopefully keep us from running out of cash at the end of the month and having to run up credit again)? Or should we b) immediately take the windfall and use all of it to pay down sizeable amounts of debt (the concern here is that if we do that, we will still have a day-to-day cash shortage that would cause us to run up the credit again)?
